Adobe Reader Lite是非官方的簡化版本，因為Adobe Reader是在有點大，很多沒用的東西都放在里面，而且安全性也不高，很多朋友都開始用上了國產的Foxit Reader。

PDF (Portable Document Format) 文件格式是電子發行文檔的事實上的標準，Adobe Acrobat Reader 是一個查看、閱讀和打印 PDF 文件的最佳工具。而且它是免費的。新版增加了兩個 Acrobat plugs-ins (Acrobat Search and AutoIndx)，它可以在硬盤、CD 和局域網中搜索用 Acrobat Catalog tool 創建了索引文件的多個 PDF 文件。
