Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix.
Think of Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely free alternative implementation of the Windows API consisting of 100% non-Microsoft code, however Wine can optionally use native Windows DLLs if they are available. Wine provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.

剛剛步入Linux，難免要有時利用一下Windows的程序資源，Wine提供了一個用來運行Windows程序的平臺。Wine(Wine Is Not an Emulator的縮寫，即Wine不僅僅是一個模擬器)是一個在XWindows和Unix上執行的Windows APIs(應用程序接口)，也可以認為Wine是一個Windows兼容層。

Wine可以在絕大多數的Unix版本下工作，但其現在仍不能完全運行所有的Windows程序，不過由于幾乎每個月都有新版本，越來越多的Windows程序已經能在Wine的幫助下在Linux中運行。

1、直接運行程序
　　使用命令wine
　　[root@localhost root]#wine myprogfile
　　其中myprogfile是可以在Linux下直接訪問的Windows程序名。

2、使用程序管理器
　　［root@localhost root］#progman
　　啟動管理器窗口，從菜單中選擇[File]|[Excute]，就會彈出一個目錄瀏覽器，選擇程序即可。

某些簡單程序可直接運行，而不需要安裝。
